Responsibilities

the everyday work
  • Assist the Pitmaster with all grilling, smoking and BBQ prep
  • Monitor smoker temperatures and meat doneness
  • Prep proteins including rib tips, wings, turkey legs, pulled pork and sausage
  • Grill smash burgers and other menu items to order
  • Maintain cleanliness of grill stations, smoker and prep areas
  • Restock and organize supplies
  • Assist with daily setup and breakdown
  • Support catering events as needed

Required

  • At least 18 years old
  • Able to stand for extended periods and work in hot conditions
  • Reliable transportation to the Starkville location
  • Strong work ethic and a team player attitude
  • Food handler’s permit, or willing to obtain one
  • Able to lift 50 lbs or more

Preferred

nice to have
  • 1 to 2 years in a kitchen, food truck, or BBQ environment
  • Familiar with smokers, grills, and holding consistent cook temperatures
  • Experience handling high volume, fast paced service
  • Knowledge of meat cuts and cooking times
  • Customer service experience
